Ford has announced that their redesigned 2011 Super Duty pickup truck will have some nice upgrades, such as a new six speed transmission and an option for an in-house designed V-8 diesel. But the upgrades will come with a higher price tag. The 2011 has been reported as coming out with a sticker price of $28,995, about $2,145 more than the 2010 Super Duty 250.
Trucks have always been a key part of Ford’s lineup, and Ford is hoping that a rise in housing construction this year will lead to a similar lift in new truck sales. No doubt there are many tradesmen and small contractors who are hoping for the economy to lift enough for them to be able to pay their current bills, much less afford one of these new trucks.
Ford is not commenting on the reports on the price increases for the Super Duty truck line, but has indicated they will reveal more about prices, options, and fuel economy for the trucks as the official launch date gets nearer.
